Get seedy

If your neighbourhood's looking a bit grey, then try a spot of guerilla gardening to brighten it up with some flowers.. seed bombs are easy to sow secretly or chuck over fences. Come along to make some wildflower seed bombs and an origami paper box to store them in. All ages welcome.

We will have a stall with books you can take for free. We are also asking people to bring any books they no longer need for the stall, so others can share these as well.

Kids' Collective Community Arts Group presents...
John Hegley

My doggie don't wear glasses
So they're lying when they say
That dogs look like their owners
Aren't they

Join us for a FREE performance by one of the country's most innovative comic poets. John Hegley was born in 1953 in Newington Green, and moved to Luton at an early age. After leaving school he worked as a bus conductor and social security clerk, until he went to Bradford University, eking out his grant by working as a nurse in a local mental hospital. He is now a regular at The Edinburgh Festival and has published several best-selling volumes of his work - signed copies will be available.

12noon (for about an hour)

Give or Take

The Give or Take is a great way to pass on things you don’t need and find things you do - all for free! The things you don't need any more might just be exactly what someone else wants - and it's a great way to reduce rubbish and help the environment as well as saving money. Please bring your unwanted items along at midday or earlier - we'll take anything except adult clothing, electrical or hazardous/toxic items: for example you can bring books, toys, kitchenware, re-useable paint, bric-a-brac, plants, furniture and ornaments etc. The Give or Take will start at midday so at that point you can browse and help yourself to what you need - BUT don’t be greedy, please leave something for others..

Banner Making

"Demonstrations and direct action are an important way of getting out ideas across to others, and can be a lot of fun too, and banners and placards are an easy way to get a message across to other people. Making sturdy and easy to transport banners is surprisingly easy and can be done by people of all ages.
This workshop is for kids of all ages and accompanied adults, and participants will come away with a handmade placard or banner to be used at any event. Paint and brushes provided. Donations of any unwanted plain coloured bed sheets would be much appreciated."

Beneath the tarmac and brick lay the remains of hundreds of years of human habitation, from ancient streams and medieval field systems to Victorian railway lines.Come and discover what can be learned about our community, its origins and early history, and past struggles from the peasants’ revolt up to our own time. Following last year's popular walk by local resident Mike Berlin, we once again will explore to the rich history that surrounds us.

The Bon Croissant Collective

The Bon Croissant Collective meets for a monthly Saturday afternoon jam at the excellent Bon Croissant cafe in Crouch End. We are  a 'loose group' rather than a band but people usually enjoy what we do: folk, a bit of rock and roll, blues, even a bit of classical sometimees. We hope to be joined on this occasion by Susan Black a singer who does great Edith Piaf.
